They look kinda..weird like a chop job on the current Ear buds. or worse, a miniature hairdryer! LOL What if you lose the other piece? Will it still work? But hey, if they sound as good my Bose Soundsport Wireless (almost same pricepoint) then by all means. Wish there was also a Jet Black version to pair with your Jet Black 7 Plus
Each earpiece has its own battery and chip, so it'll probably still work if you lose one earring. But I doubt they'd be as good as my Bluebuds X or other closed headphones, because the Airpods do not have noise-isolating ear tips. It apparently has noise-cancellation capabilities, but that won't help cancel self-righteous noise on Facebook.
i like it, but the price is too much for me, thinking the us price still has no taxes, this might be around 8-9k when it reaches here right?
indeed... they look weird... would've been way cooler and a homerun if Apple went with it sans the "stem" part or whatever you call it.
Might get lucky and find one of these in random places... from the looks of it these are relatively easy to lose especially among runners. This is exactly what scares me the most - losing a pair of $159 earphones. I agree with this. I would love to have a black version of it.
^My first thought actually, those stems, I guess for the mic reach though. Go to Quiapo or Divisoria with those, they wont last five minutes to the sleight of hand trick masters. Even earrings dont get spared sometimes.
looks good but how's the iPhone 7 going to charge and use the lightning earpods at the same time. Apple wants your money buy this instead while charging.
Meet AirPods, Apple's foray into wireless headphones Now that the 3.5-millimeter headphone jack is dead and gone, meet the technology that killed it: AirPods. These white wireless earbuds interact with the iPhone and the Apple Watch. Wear them both to watch movies or listen to music, or just pop in a single one for a phone call (kinda like those Bluetooth earpieces people used to wear). Each includes a mic, chip, sensors and batteries, which last five hours. They charge in their case, and you can charge the case itself through the lightning port. (Tracey Lien / Los Angeles Times)
have you ever seen apple's A-chips on other smartphones? precisely. so we'll probably see just as many W-chips on third party headphones—nada. besides, there are already plenty of third party headphones, via BT. go for it. people bitchin' about the long stem like they never wore BT headsets with mics longer than Elvis's sideburns. apple watch became the #2-selling watch in spite of the criticisms. i wouldn't buy airpods or the W1-powered beats headphones either, but you can bet these cans will move up the sales ladder. because apple. BTW, there are now two Airpods threads. left and right channels? will merge.
yeah, they use the stem as a mic (and probably as a speaker baffle too) to pick up ambient noise. but then, it was nearly 3am so i could've been hearing things. but the cancellation is half-baked because the ear tip is not noise-isolating or "air tight". so it's like buying a noise-cancelling over-the-ear headphones with open back. or like building a soundproof room, but your wife is in it.
