I had that problem for a while. After exhausting all my options (repair permissions, PRAM reset, update OS), I brought my unit to a service center (Senco Link). They had to reset my AirPort card, so far everything seems to be okay now.

Hey, this is happening to me right now too.. I shut down my Macbook Pro last night and when I turned it on just now, it says that there is no Airport card installed. What should I do? I haven't downloaded any software update recently.. and I've been using this mac for 5 months now and this is the first time it happened.
