I noticed something new in my iChat window today. What is an AIM Bot? Can I chat with the bot?

I didn't add them. I just found them in my buddy list, so I'd say that AOL put them in there.

Bots is short for "robots." They are automated messengers, designed to send out generic messages and stuff. I got the AIM bots (ShoppingBuddy & MovieFone) in my Adium list, too, but I deleted them na.

The word recognition function required in most blogs or websites for posting comments, etc. is a device to rid the sites from an influx of generic posts from bots.

    That's all I know. :) HTH
