Adium X 1.0b1 is out!

    Selected Major Changes

    Major AIM, ICQ and .Mac improvements. This includes working File Transfer, and faster sign on.
    Added global user profile and buddy icon settings. (Personal Preferences)
    General Account improvements. Accounts can now be disabled when not in in use, and friends can now sign on from your Adium without saving their information.
    Added an Xtras manager to better handle browsing and removing Xtras.
    Major improvements in privacy settings.
    Improvements to the default look and feel of Adium.
    iTunes integration is much faster, and updates as soon as the song changes.
    Redesigned Chat Transcript (Log) Viewer
    Requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later (Universal Binary)

    check out the change log. youll find all the new stuff in there. its the future of .89 only still in beta.

    I agree with you as I don't use the file transfer feature.

    i'll wait until it goes out of beta before installing.

    on another note, is there a way to keep all my extras when I do an upgrade. I installed a few extras, most notably a more ichat-like dock icon, because I hate that duck looking thing! however, whenever i upgrade, everything gets lost and i need to set everything up again.

    So far none that I know of, even the skins are gone too. You need to redo it all over again.

    Me like the beta version! Really connects faster... although I was hoping for at least even just iChat voice support.

    My extras are intact too after upgrading.

    I did say app error when i chose Dont Change in the login accounts. But when I clicked Change, all was OK...

    That's odd. The upgrades have preserved all my xtras. (I have a custom dock icon, sounds, emoticons, etc).
