Hi newbie here. just like to ask if it's possible to have the old version of imovie (imovie hd) together with the new OS Leopard? I read somewhere that the old version of imovie is much better than the new version because the old version have special effects and the new one don't.

So basically i'm hoping to have the new OS with imovie HD:D Is that possible?

    Thanks and more power.

    lokoloko... what's iMove?

@marklj: you can download iMovie HD 6 here from Apple.com. It will only install an Macs where iLife '08 is already installed. iMovie '08 has more features than HD6 but it is incredibly hard to use for beginners. Once you find your way around iMovie '08, you'll find that it is a lot more powerful than HD 6.

No problem, I was also frustrated with iMovie 08's baffling interface... all I wanted to do was join/split movies. Went back to iMovie HD 6 instead.

Just in case, here's a rather popular YouTube iMovie 08 Tutorial you might find useful.

i also had the same 'baffling' experience with iMovie 08 (had both HD 6 & 08 on my iMac). i decided to give 08 time (and patience!), now i'm a happy iMovie 08 user :)

hmm... i also find iMovie's interface cumbersome. time to check out the old version. thanks for the link. if it suits my needs, imovie 08 will meet mr. appcleaner. hehehe
