I love the three-paned view that MS implemented in Outlook 2003/Entourage 2004 and always hated the fact that Apple's Mail.app couldn't do the same trick. Well, now it can :-D

TUAW's post is here, and the developer's instructions and Mail plug-in are here.

This should be especially sweet for all you widescreen MacBook and MacBook pro users.

    Enjoy!

Amazing. Great find! It installs/uninstalls by just dragging the Bundles folder. Thanks jasondv!

I dunno... mighty fine on a big display but it kinda cramps up desktop real estate on a 12", especially when you like to see your subject, date, and sender in one glance without scrolling horizontally.

Any potential conflict with another plug-in such as Daylite?

One of the reason that it's time for me to upgrade or just buy an external widescreen display. The one offered by Acer 19" Widescreen display looks very tempting because of the price tag but analog VGA input signal only.

    Letterbox (Wide Screen Mail.app View)

Taken from a link in 43 Folders...

Check out Letterbox, a plug-in to enable a three pane view in Mail.app (like the one available for NetNewsWire), perfect for widescreen macs :)

Just installed Letterbox. Much easier to use than the Mailwidescreen plug-in. Didn't have to tinker w/ Terminal anymore. Thanks, Kelv!

Kelvin! I love Letterbox! Not only is it easy installation but it even supports messages organized in threads!
