Was rooting for Lando to get 2nd, but hey, McLaren are definitely on the up and up.

Surprised to see (yes, I googled it) that Lando hasn't won a race, with his talent and skill. Perez and Gasly have even won races before him? Hard to believe. Hoping he wins one or a few this season. Finding a new favorite driver to root for after Kimi has been long and difficult for me, but Lando seems to be a good bet. Very likable dude.

Speaking of Kimi, that was awkward and unfortunate with Seb on the last lap in Austria, fighting for zero points.

As it turns out, it wasn't a hot take at all.

Mercedes had decided some time ago that they would slow down and even stop the development of the 2021 car to focus on 2022, while Red Bull continues to fine tune their 2021 package. For instance, all wind tunnel resources at Merc have been devoted to 2022 (ref. the ever-insightful Mark Hughes of Motorsport magazine).

I'd say that's a good decision, as there's not much Merc can do with their car. Their low-rake concept is fooked.

Based on that, Max should easily run away with this year's title.

Lets' see how Bono explains this on Merc team radio.

HAM-VER-BOT for the Sprint Qualifying tomorrow.

RUS getting into mix making it 3 Brits in Q3! Wow.

Somewhat enjoyable first ever Sprint Race. But it was similar to the trend of the actual races, exciting midfield battles, boring predictable results in front.

For me, it gives more excitement to the race and the drivers.

Although we can predict the outcome, but we can also expect a change at any given time. Like what happened to Perez.

The blistering tires of Hamilton and Verstappen could also lead to a change.

Although, the blistering is to be expected since there are no tire strategies for the Sprint and won’t affect tire choice for the Grand Prix.

As much as I want LEC to win, HAM just hammered it down. Well deserved.

Now, I'm thinking now if I just jinxed it for RB. Championship is still on!

    Wow. Max’s shunt was 51Gs. That’s insane.

Oh boy, that first lap skirmish is nothing compared with the war of opinions raging on social media ;)

Hahahaha yeah, dude. Daming socmed stewards!

The way I see it, HAM was at fault a because he was found guilty by the stewards. The stewards are in the best position to hand out the corresponding penalty, not Horner nor Marko, not social media.

To me, it was also telling that Hamilton didn't react nor object vehemently (if he really thought he was not at fault) when he was first informed of the penalty—as if he was expecting it (or he just didn't care). As one of the Fox commentators surmised, it's possible (but he's not saying he did it) that Lewis must have calculated all the possible scenarios, from penalties and so on, with the worst scenario being a double-DNF. But even with that, it's a "win" for Lewis because Max won't be extending his lead.

Admired how Charlie saw the accident right in front of him, then downshifted and floored the throttle. Ciao! Racers be racers.

Charles even asked how was Max doing after the crash. I did not watch the entire race after that incident.

Crazy racist abuse Lewis received online after the incident. Found it a classy move by RBR to condemn the racism on social media. Competitors on track, united off.
