HAM-PER-VER for tomorrow. Sayang si Lando hay. Mazepin does not know if he likes on track or try rally. Perez is showing his mettle this season and I hope he improves and be consistent. No luck for Vettel.
HAM all alone at the front of the grid. Barring reliability issues, RBR guys will have a party smelling the prey in front of them. I'm counting out BOT now for this race, not a hater but he can't overtake if he's not in front of the grid. But hey, prove me wrong
HAM nearly beached, broken front wing. SC on lap 32. Disaster for the Mercs. EDIT: Oof, race is RED flagged.
So happy for Norris and McLaren. Getting a podium on merit and pure pace. Hope this will be the start of the team’s return to the front of the grid. As for the incident of BOT and RUS, so many stewards on the internet! Hahaha. My only take away is that RUS was about to overtake BOT... in a Williams. Can’t understand the lack of pace from the Finn.
The race had a lot of drama. I was very impressed with Verstappen's move and did not look back. I hope to see more consistent results from Mc Laren and Ferrari this year.
Lando and Yuki (till he spun) gained the most places and Charles still making the most of his limited resources. The future of F1 is looking good.
Shows that Russell was being limited by a slower car the last couple of years, and Williams have made good improvements for this year. I hope the incident doesn't be a turning point for Bottas like it was for Vettel in the 2018(?) German GP.
What a race! Lots of action, and certainly lots of drama. My takeaways: - strong finish for both Ferraris. - strong performances from the Mercedes powered teams : McLaren and Williams (at least in quali, too bad they had a double DNF) - a gritty recovery drive from Lewis; I was thinking things would definitely have been more if he didn't lose places. - Vettel can't seem to catch a break. - Landoooooooo!
I've seen a lot of fb/ig/irl friends get into F1 lately. Definitely because of Netflix and Youtube. More internet stewards for the sport, I guess.. HAHAHA.. I feel for Vettel. Can't seem to catch a break. The team should have let him finish that one last lap, whats the worst thing that could happen? a badly-setup-car blowing up? hahaha it might have been better to just rebuild his car. but yeahhh, looks like Ferrari did some real damage to Vettel mental state, he's not the same. EDIT: just noticed it now, no one seems to be using the U-Mask that the drivers used to wear. Good thing they stopped using it, it just keeps falling off everytime they did an interview, and the drivers keep touching their mask. The use of surgical mask now is better.
Stock market analogy. Lando: Buy Bottas: Sell And yeah, I wasn't wondering whose fault it was between VB and GR, but wondering why Bottas was being passed on merit by a Williams, and before that, by a green Force India. To console him, two WDCs had trouble coming to grips (pun intended) with their cars, Vettel and Alonso. Hello Kimi fans, he did land in the points.
... which he lost due to a 30 second time penalty, resulting in the first point for Alonso. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/...ace-penalty-drops.47DGShuslfdtb5MeE3pBtw.html
Opinion on the Sprint Qualifying? I'd say it will kill the actual qualifying spirit. Currently, I do not like it but we'll see on Silverstone if this still stands.
Personally, I think it’ll add some excitement. Especially with some points on the table, everyone will be gunning for it.
Yes, that would make the entire race weekend more entertaining to watch—on TV but more so in person when it's safe and allowed again—from Friday qualifying for the sprint race, to the sprint race on Saturday, to the actual race on Sunday.
Post-race press conference, Portugal: Interviewer: Max, Nico Rosberg said that now Max is starting to get a better understanding of how good Lewis is... Are you now beginning to understand how good Lewis is? Max: Yeah, I don’t need Nico to make me realise how good Lewis is. I know he’s very good, otherwise you don’t win so many championships. Max straightens out the media as deftly as he straightens out a sliding car. The best interviewee. Right now I'd put Alonso at P2 and Yuki at P3.
^ Was also amused at the Sky pre-race interviews of Rosberg with Toto, probably in light of recent comments that Toto made in the press about the Lewis-Nico rivalry back then. Man I think Nico still has some 'hugot' going on there.
