Remember the rain-stricken, red-flagged Nurburgring more than a decade ago? Let's hope for a repeat!

Was that the one in 2000 then called the European GP? Where only Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen were the only two cars in the lead group? Where I believe only 9 of 21 cars remained in one of the most rain-soaked GPs ever?

But neither that or the fact that the field was decimated can stop Ferrari then topple McLaren and push Schumacher way ahead of his dogfight with Mika. Truly awesome GPs then.

^ Actually, what I had in mind was 2007 where several drivers crashed out in the first lap, notably Hamilton (but got a push out of the gravel trap since he kept his engine running and was able to continue)

But that 2000 race you mentioned was indeed a duel between two rain meisters

What if The Hulk gets a podium in Silverstone?! That would be something, huh?

it would really be something! Would it be the first time that a stand-in be on the top3? And it is really not farfetched if you think about it, he’d have a better chance in a 2020 pink merc, than in a renault.

btw, hulks return is more exciting than alonso’s. haha

Well, that last 2 laps from the British GP really woke me up!

If it had been as 53-lap race or if VER did not pitted, he could have been the winner.

Yeah but as per Max just now, his tires were also in a bad state so it had to be done.

What we missed, without the British fans, was hearing their collective groan when Lewis's tire deflated, and their exhilaration when he crossed the finish line on three wheels, and their cheering of Lando all the way to 5th.

Merc doesn't often mismanage races, but they mismanaged this one. It was kinda easy to predict that tires would be marginal when they changed to the hards early. For Valterri, how could they ignore complaints of vibration for several laps, and as Brundle quickly pointed out, they should've pitted Lewis. Luck saved this win for them.

^Toto Wolff, in a post-race interview with Will Buxton on the F1 Show, admitted that they could have pitted Lewis with one lap to go seeing that he still had a comfortable gap in front of Max anyway. That move would have ensured that Lewis made it to the checkered flag without threat of his car breaking apart on the way, or scattering more debris on the track.

That was a moving tribute to the absent British fans, in the pre-race buildup, set to Elton John’s “Your Song.” Weepy stuff, as it makes us all look forward to a post-pandemic world.

Do they have to remove those ducts for this weekend? Checo tested positive again and hulk is racing, so maybe tracing points pace will be affected. No podium for hulk it is..
