Most of the car launches are scheduled early February. Always excited to see new livery. I hope my McLaren team move further up the order and challenge for podiums.
Ferrari fan here, but I really really like the Papaya livery of McLaren for the past 2 seasons. I hope they retain this for MCL35.
Remembered the McLaren championship seasons with Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard, and when real racing was decided by great driving not by superior technology. Always fun to watch their rivalry with Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello.
And... this early, there is already talk of problems with the basic aero design of the 2020 Ferrari... So much Italian pressure, even before the season starts
^Leave it to the Italians to overstress themselves with such details, but only a German driver with ice-cold mentality and superb reflexes brought them those championships. Hope this year there would be that German.
One of my favorite bit of the F1 season is the car launches. Haas VF-20's livery has a familiar take. The eventual 2021 Constructors champion has a splash of red on their challenger.
I'm looking forward to these storylines: 1. McLaren's continued improvement. Hopefully they get to fight for some podiums this year 2. Will Ferrari finally break Mercedes' dominance? And it would be interesting to watch the Leclec- Vettel pairing. ( my mind's telling me no.) 3. Hopefully Vettel gets some wins 4. How will Red Bull fare with another season with Honda Engines 5. Young gun development: Albon, Norris and Russel 6. Hoping Williams get their act together and make some improvements
What’s the deal with the season-opening Australian GP not being postponed yet? It would have come to the point that the first half of races may push further into the second quarter of this calendar year, unless F1 puts up health and sanitation rules especially for spectators and pit crews. Or presumably F1 would need to cancel out certain races to shorten the season in the interest of protecting its drivers and ensuring public health safety. Just imagine the large crowds gathering for these events and host countries not being able to put up rigid screening procedures and maybe exposing them to asymptomatic carriers or infectees. That would put a damper into an otherwise thrilling sports event.
A friend said that Vietnam GP may also be cancelled. His wife might be happy if they gave him his Dong back.
If they cancel Vietnam GP, it will be a long break between Bahrain on March 22 and Netherlands on May 3.
as someone who is obsessed with the Gulf livery, i approve of this. Gulf should pounce on this opportunity and be a minor sponsor for mclaren, they would look like a title sponsor without the cost of one. HAHAHA.
I was in college during these years and a big Mika/McLaren fan! But only got 2 McLaren caps and plenty of Schumi/Scuderia Ferrari caps. hahaha. Since ‘96 and a couple after those years(great rivalry) and after Schumi went to McLaren, I wasn’t able to follow F1.
