Has anyone here had their topcase on a 15" unibody MBP replaced? If so, how long did it take? It looks like mine might need a topcase replacement because of a problem with the keyboard. Its not yet confirmed, but the technician at DH V-Mall agreed that my left key was difficult to press. Apparently they would still need to open it up for checks and testing and then order the part from Apple in Singapore.

I was just wondering how long this entire process usually takes. Advice, anyone?

Yup, my MBP is still under warranty. You didn't have to leave your unit with them? I was told by DH V-Mall that I'd have to leave my unit and, assuming the case will be replaced, I wouldn't be able to get it back until they actually replace it. I was asking if I could get it back after diagnosis but they said no :(

Mig: Talk to Julius of DHub pare, he is very accommodating and would understand if your can't leave your unit with them.

yeah, Dhub might be amenable to that. It also depends on the problem. My problem was really obvious because the Fn key popped, so all PmAc had to do was to take pictures that the area around the keyboard wasn't scratched (user-caused), etc. :)

What does Julius look like? I'm not sure who took a look at my unit anymore. :slanted:

They told me it was SOP that the laptop stays with them until repairs were made.

Hmm. I suppose its because yours is a physical thing that can actually be seen. My issue involves the pressing of the key (I posted a thread on it somewhere here)

He's the tallest of them all, kinda healthy and long haired guy..He's one of the senior tech there and would really listen to you. Just explain your reason for not leaving your unit.

Oh yeah, I think I saw him there. Hmm. I tried the first time and they told me I really couldn't leave it there. :( I wonder how I'll do this. Haha
