It's finally out! A way to communicate with iOS devices from our Macs

EDIT: Apple just pulled the plug on the beta

I just tested Messages out now and it seems to be working fine. Already sent a couple of messages to friends and family and they all got it. Messages are synced on all my iOS devices as well!

weird, messages doesn't sync/integrate w my iPhone or other iOS devices. I added the same email in my iPhone to try to link them but it still doesn't. Basically if i use messages in my MBP, it doesn't show in my other devices and vice versa.

Which is ok cause the MBP is just at home which i leave turned on sometimes. Wouldn't want some wayward message popping up there without my knowledge.

Still, I believe this isn't supposed to be the case.

    do i reinstall?

Mine shows up in both iPhone and MBP.

Its a pity Messages app doesn't support MSN yet. Only then will I be convinced to switch. Most of my contacts are in MSN.

Oh and, I've been monitoring the amount of resources Messages and Adium uses. It seems Adium really is light weight. It only uses 49MB ram (with 2 accounts active and connected) whle Messages uses 120MB with only iMessaging active.

Need more specifics. Problem to vague.

Oh, does the blue chat icon beside a Contact's iMessage contact detail indicate that he is merely active or does it mean he is online? I have some iMessage contacts with no blue chat icon.
