    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anybody had any issues with the keyboard light control on their MBP? Suddenly, I just cant seem to turn on my keyboard backlight, as the control keys (F5 & F6) is not responsive.

I hope that I would be able to fix this issue, without surrendering my MBP for service. (I use it everyday for work.)

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

try to cover the sensor (near isight) then press f5 or f6 and see what happens

or maybe you tick under keyboard preferences the "use all f1, f2, etc keys as standard function keys"

Thank you Bhoyetjumpay. I did what you suggested and I got it going again.

My office just installed new lighting fixtures over the weekend, and perhaps the brightness is so intense which is why it affected the keyboard light control.

Thanks again for your input. I panicked at the thought of sending away my MBP.:confused::D

My keyboard backlight "manual control" did not function too this morning, you need to be in a dark area in order for the it to activate, but when your in the lighted area all you will see is the 0 with a / on it, i wanted to have the original manual control of the backlight rather than the ambient light sensor dictating its activation, it give extra "pogi" points kasi to my MBP hehehe, so if you want to gain the manual control again i suggest you download Labtick, it's free and gives you that control ang pogi points back hahaha... :p

Thanks for the info, Ste@lth. I also would like to have manual control of the keyboard light too.
