Anyone else excited for this game? I've finished Chaos Theory and Double Agent before. Now I'm tackling the original one and Pandora Tomorrow. The PC version's harsh DRM is a bit of a turn-off, though. Taken from Wikipedia New gameplay features:
Yes and no.... Sadly, I prefer the old Sam Fisher spy-type gameplay. I can't understand why the producers agreed to change the way you play Splinter Cell. Don't get me wrong, the Conviction-style gameplay seems innovative and exciting but in my own opinion, the Splinter Cells' 1,2 and especially 3, were better than Double Agent. Reviewers from IGN also said that Conviction is far too easy, even on the hardest difficulty as the character has been set to become too powerful for his opponents - which can be fun at times but don't you think it would be nice to have the option to make everything 50x harder to push you to the limits? I remember having to try Double Agent again and again and again to try and get 100% on each level (no detections, no kills etc) and it was great fun and the graphics were pretty superb at the time!
Yeah, I get what you mean. Chaos Theory was my favorite game of the series, Double Agent didn't even manage to top it off. I'll be getting the PC version this week. Be posting my thoughts on the game here.
mmm....Datablitz is taking pre-orders, last time I visited one of their stores. On-line authentication (which requires persistent internet connection) IS SUCH A HASSLE. Had a taste of it with Steam playing Supreme Commander 2. Sometimes, when the connection goes on a blink, you can't save at all. Damn......I'm all for anti-piracy for IPR protected software, but not at the expense of customers who buy the genuine product.
Most of the newer Splinter Cell (PC) ones had some really serious anti-piracy problems. I had a copy of Chaos Theory and I remember that after reinstalling the software, it wouldn't let me play the game at all and I had to end up contacting Ubisoft for support!
Woah! I thought Double Agent was absolutely the best game i ever played on the XboX!! Then again that was the only Splinter Cell game i played. Makes me wanna play the older ones then!
