Hi guys! I have accidentally deleted System Preferences and other apps in my apps folder and now I couldn't get them back. I tried the Pacifist, went around with it, re-acquired some of the missing apps except the System Preferences (plus Preview, Stickies and TextEdit). Can you guys help me by providing me a step-by-step process? Like, what packages (.pkg) should I install if I only wanted to get the System Preferences from the installer CD? Or is there a place I can download System Preferences? I did that with Quicktime. I am really not so much on this whole software thing so I hope you can assist me. Tech noob here. Please, pretty please, help. Thank you so much in advance for the good samaritans!! And advance happy holidays!
i'm not sure if it will work buy just copying systemprefs.app from another mac but stickies and textedit will work.. OR save yourself the trouble and just do an archive install using your recovery DVD's.. what's your OS? Snow or Leopard?
