Since we don’t have a dedicated subforum or thread for all things Smart, I thought I’d create a thread for the meantime. I decided to do so in the iPhone section since the Globe subforum is located here

Smart is now rolling out WiFi Calling and, seemingly, VoLTE as well (albeit for Samsung devices only, at least for now). I hope Globe follows suit and implement this for iPhone.

Smart’s press release mentions a firmware update that’s coming in October, that’s probably when most of their customers would get WiFi Calling and VoLTE.

Same thing here in Gensan. I think it's nationwide.

What are your opinion on Smart's Gadget Shield? Has anyone here availed of it? Has anyone used it?

That depends. I have friends in the past who said it worked for them. I have about an equal amount of friends whose claims were rejected. I'm trying to figure out why the ones where rejected. It's not limited to Smart, as I have friends and employees who said the same thing about Globe's similar product. Hit or miss? Circumstances?

Due to overseas travel I had my Smart postpaid suspended for 3 months. Tomorrow is the end of the suspension period. Does Smart require manual reactivation via voice call or visit to Smart store or do I just slap in the SIM again and start using it normally?

I am traveling out of the country again on December 5. Can I re-suspend the account again? Sayang din kasi yung P299/month that I pay for.

Hi quick newbie-ish question. What does "volume data" and "open data" means in their plans? thanks.

Volume data is for a specific app. Open data is for any/all app/s, like youtube, facebook, twitter, etc.
