I'm back in the market again because my Panasonic Inverter Split Type's compressor died already. Area is a 43 square meter studio type condominium. Would like to ask for recommendation on aircon size. My old one was 2.5 HP. Considering getting the same so as not to change the tubing which are enclosed in a wall. However, it appears that conventional split type aircon is better suited for the size of my unit. Any comments on the size?
Around 3+ years before the compressor died. I asked how much it would cost to replace they compressor and they quoted me 35k for it including labor. I feel like to does not make sense to have the compressor replaced as the warranty will only be 3 months vis getting a new set which costs 58k with a warranty on the compressor for 5 years.
Got a 2HP 2013 Samsung Crystal series premium inverter from Lazada. was at 35k but i got it on a monday for 15% off when using a mastercard. Total cost was 29k+3.5k piping kit+4k installation. comfortably cools a 25sqm space downstairs. only heat sources would be a ref, projector, sound system. interestingly enough it consumes less power than my 3/4 HP window type AC in the bedroom upstairs (14sqm) . controlling the AC via wifi is pretty nifty too.
I'm interested in getting an AC from Lazada too. Can I ask how is the process/procedure when you ordered from them? Price from the website does not include the installation fees. How did you negotiate with the installation cost and process? TIA.
Just a question. How come we need to add 1/2 a horsepower more with an inverter AC if we are cooling room of the same size?
Any advice you could give guys? my room is in the 2nd floor of our 2 story house facing the sun. Its around 22 sq m. one surveyor computed 24.4 and another at 22.62 sq m. I have some floor to ceiling windows but they are tinted with 3m. 2 tints na magkapatong para protection sa light and sudden breakage both surveyors said that a 2 hp inverter split-type is enough and said that a 2.5 is too much. im considering between carrier and panasonic. Kaso medyo malaki difference in terms of eer ng dalawa carrier xpower2 gold 2.0 hp = 12.5-9.3 ; 2.5 hp = 20.5-10 Xpower Silver 2.0 hp = 14.7-12.3; 2.5 hp = 17.5-12.9 (albeit older model) panasonic de luxe inverter (new model) 2.0 hp = 13.6; 2.5 hp = 13.09 I dont like it too cold, kaso later on when my future wife would join me in the room, magiging extra heat load yun. I have a gaming pc and lcd tv din sa room. medyo malaki din price difference ng 2 hp and 2.5. Pero if magiging super sulit sya, pwede bite the bullet. should i follow the yun recommended ng surveyors? Or get the 2.5 carrier gold with very high eer that they claim? (Nakakatukso kasi yun sabi nila na 20.5 eer) Or settle for the silver 2.0 hp which has a higher eer compared with the gold, or get the panasonic 2.0 instead? Yun 2.5 ng panasonic has a slightly lower eer compared sa 2.0 ng same brand. thanks for any advice ps, the height of the room is about 8.5 ft from floor to ceiling. based on experience kasi mas preferred ko either sa 2 brands
i have a 2.5 hp kolin and LG inverter type aircon installed in our resto. between the two, the LG gives out the most savings utilising only 1.8KVA (.9 amp) vs. the Kolin at 2.2KVA (1.1 amp). However the Kolin has a bigger indoor unit which relates to faster cooling because of its bigger fan. my advice is to get the Kolin since you can always control the cooling temperature if you don't need it too cold but in hot summer days you need the extra cooling capacity you can have.
Bossing amboy, yun shop mo is also in baguio? Mas malamig outside temp dun di ba? Dito ako cainta/marikina area e
@doc homer, i forgot to mention, our resto is in Rosario, La Union... so my experience on my inverter aircons is based on hot weather climate also
looking at putting a window type inverter for a condo bedroom that's around 10.5sqm and another BR naman is around 8sqm. high ceiling for both so i'm not sure how to consider this. hassle yung condo pmo, ayaw pumayag sa split type. would appreciate a list of good options; both BRs facing morning sun, btw (so may sunlight inside the rooms until around noon). also trying to think kung kailangan talaga inverter since hindi naman ako nasa condo the whole time. in another condo, i have one of those carrier non-inverter window type units na puwede mag-cycle between aircon and fan every half hour. should i just go for that instead again? thanks
Have you already found a particular window type Inverter AC unit? The last time I checked, there aren't many of them and the one I saw (Hitachi) was priced almost like a 2.0hp split type unit. Very expensive.
Got last May 2015 a Daikin 3 ton inverter floor-standing aircon at our home. It's really cool and you can save around 25% electricity. We have another 3 tonner inverter floor standing aircon in our shop but the compressor died down after 3 years, so recently made the switch to Daikin.
Kolon has just started rolling out it's window type inverter models from 1hp to 1.5hp. Much cheaper than Hitachi.
been waiting to change all our window type aircons to inverter. how much is the Kolin? those Hitachi are priced so unreasonably, pay huge before you actually saves, don't like split type, too hassle to install and hard to service, I can't sleep a night without an aircon here in Pinas even on colder December, I know a technician that I can call for home service whenever my window type aircon breaks but medyo high ang singil, but compare to those service centers that schedule to check up than schedule to pull out then schedule to observe in shop kuno then deliver back to you that takes not less than 3 days or might takes more than a week before they told you it needs a major repair, I prefer repair on spot and if beyond repair or too expensive to repair I can buy a new one at nearest appliance store and have it plug in right away,
How much are the kolin units? I've used the brand before and ok naman performance, tumagal naman and pinamana ko pa later on. Worth it kaya to buy a kolin inverter vs more established non-inverter windows type brands?
