Hey all! I ordered the M1 MBA 16 gb RAM variant though the website on December 11. According to apple ph's order tracking page, it is now "Shipped" and on DHL's tracking page it shows "Shipment picked up". It's been stuck on "shipment picked up" for 8 days now. Anybody facing the same problem? Or has anybody received their M1 macs bought through the website?
Mini for me, ordered Dec. 31. Is that the tracking detail when you click on "Track shipment" from the Apple website? Mine has a lot more details, every step of the eway.
Dang that makes me so jelly to see so much details in your tracking page. Yeah man, i just used the official DHL tracking site. Same airwaybill number. Dang this really makes me wonder what the heck happened to my laptop. Did you receive an Invoice from apple too? Mine says shipped on January 06, 2021.
I didn't even know I was looking at a DHL site. I just clicked the "Track shipment" link from within the Apple PH site while logged in, and those details showed up.
interesting on buying the 16GB model instead of 8GB for MBA M1, does it really make a big difference?
If you consider yourself a heavy user -- Photoshop with 30 50 megapixel images open as well as Lightroom, with 30 Word documents open and Safari with 50 tabs open aside from FinalCut or Premiere, and LogicPro with 30 tracks, yeah, go for 16gb.
Hmm I'm going to be placing my order next week. Now I'm wary it'll take much longer to receive based on your experiences. Last time I ordered an iPhone and iPad late last year and it took 3 and 2 weeks respectively. I ordered them one week apart but apparently DHL found out I had two orders and decided to deliver them on the same day even though the iPhone had been sitting in their local facility for a week.
To my surprise, there's someone here in faraway Iligan selling M1 Macs since maybe last month. I see it on my FB feed, but of course ignored it. Then yesterday a friend said she got her M1 Air from that vendor, a nice young guy whose family sells gadgets in Greenhills, delivered to her in Cagayan de Oro, same price as in the Apple online store, and warranty showed up in the Apple website database. Nyahahaha! And here I am still waiting for a month-long delivery.
PS if you look up UP Diliman Buy and Sell on FB, there's a store selling MBA2020 M1, same day delivery...
I’m ok with the waiting since we ordered via education pricing, i think it’s worth the extra savings.
I don't know why it takes too long for DHL to ship. Outside Apple, under normal circumstances, DHL from US to Pinas, even in the boondocks of my province, takes 3-4 days? Or maybe they have special arrangement with Apple, for a much lower rate, but via snail mail.
Is yours a 16GB model? Ordered mine via Education Store on Dec. 26, ETA is Feb. 8-16. The waiting game is unbearable. But the earlier arrival of yours is a spirit boost hehe
Yup there are lots of sellers outside regular channels, which kinda interesting as they cost same as listed prices, although now there are stocks available at apple stores in the malls, i got mine from Power Mac in SM Telebastagan, Inbox and Switch is also selling them albeit on a limited stock, unless your getting discounts local store can serve you now.
