What's the equivalent of DOS on my Macbook?, Posted 03-11-2010, 09:49 AM #1
Help! At work, we use a linsys router which works with computers set up with Windows Visa, Professional, XP Pro, XP7, ME, 98 and 95. I'm trying to get our tech support to hook up my MacBook so I can also use it.

The problem is he can't find the equivalent of the DOS on my MacBook.

How do I get to the DOS, so we can get the "mac address", and use that to register with the Linksys router?

Thank you MacGeeks....

You can use the Terminal or just go to your mac network preferences if you want to get the mac's mac address. HTH

I'm not a MacGeek either so sorry for my super simple curious questions. What do you mean by "use your terminal?"
