I think battery is not covered by APP, specially if the unit is more than 1 year.

It must be if Elbert had his replaced as stated in the first post.

Just wondering, how do you know when your battery can be replaced? I mean my Pbook battery hardly goes for two hours now is that reason enough to have it changed or should it conk out on me first? As in not work at all, before it can be replaced?

You are right, mistermoya. batteries are replaceable as long as the unit is covered by AppleCare.

If the battery lasts for just 2 hours or less, then it's definitely qualified to be replaced. I really don't know what the parameters are, but 2 hours would mean a capacity that's 50% of the original, so I suspect it's based on Ah rating. iBatt is a tool that can help you determine.

BTW, if you purchase AppleCare Protection Plan for iPod, even the earphones are covered by warranty.
