By the looks of the huge sales they are enjoying from their current Mac lines I doubt Apple would be motivated to try their hand on netbooks, especially when margins are paper thin in that market and we know how Apple loves margins.

+1

In my opinion, Apple keep on producing portable computers, not just a simple netbook, but can handle other intensive computing capabilities plus reliability. i think this why they are different.

SUCCESS is on the FAR side of FAILURE....

You should try to read back, sir. 10.6.2 is STILL running in Hackintoshes (points at my sig).

+1 Mad Mac. I've met a lot of people here in Doha who keeps on asking me where the hell did I get a small Mac. I just point to them the logo of MSI on the upper left part of the screen bezel. Haha.

Eager to Hackintosh my friend's Lenovo S10. If its a success i'll get one for myself, its safer to bring a netbook than carry mbp outside.

Come one Apple, give us an AppBook This will have a thin version of OS X much like an iPod Touch that has its own set of proprietary apps from the App Store. It will have field functionality yet its sales won't cannibalize mainstream Macs. It's a second machine for mobile use. It will be thin like the MacBook Air and please don't make this a tablet. I don't care for tablets. 10 or 11" screen will be nice. I don't mind if it is not wide screen so browsing will have more real estate. Wide movies can always sport letterboxes.

if it works for you then congratulations. i just made a comment regarding the subject title that, 'Apple rumored to disable Atom support with Mac OS X 10.6.2', since it is just rumored and im seeing a sense of direction that non-authorised computers wont make use of the mac os anymore, its cool right? so again, if you have yourself one, a big congartulations for you sir!

cheers!

I can't help wonder what people would do to defend their ideologies. I have come to accept that in a less-than-perfect world that we live in, there'll always be good guys and bad guys so why waste my energies.

Apple [or any other company for that matter] could come up with the tightest and meanest code to thwart piracy but there will always be ways to break these. Come on, we're not in Pleasantville.

Let's not judge, just enjoy what's out there. At the end of the day, what matters is our own conscience.

Looks like 10.6.2 is now hacked by a Russian hacker to run on Atom notebooks

So for the netbook Hackintoshers, hail the motherland.

Just curious about the performance of OS X on Atoms. the 1.6GHz CPU might be not enough. As it is now, applications are becoming more demanding in terms of CPU speed and RAM requirement. Haven't heard of a PC upgraded to a bigger hard drive. Ask ko nga din if I can upgrade my Lenovo.
