I'm interested in seeing how the new Macbooks perform especially in comparison to other existing/new laptops.

here are two benchmarks/reviews I've seen so far.

Some interesting news...

On Mac rumors, People are saying that the new line of macbooks have a more efficient video playback.

Also 9to5mac is speculating that the new macbooks might not be limited to 4Gb only.

Santa Rosa Macbook Pros could handle 8GB of RAM easily but the question is can the software use it and how much are 4GB SODIMMs these days? Especially DD3 4GB SODIMMS

Santa Rosa Macbook pros can't accept more than 4GB of ram.
