The popularity of the iPod could be boosting Apple Computer's financials in unexpected ways.
According to a survey of iPod users by financial analysis firm Piper Jaffray, Macs are basking in the reflected glory of the iPod, with some who own the music player saying they have already or are intending to ditch their PCs for Macs.
The research found that 6 percent of iPod users have made the switch. An additional 7 percent said they are planning to dump their old PC for an Apple machine, according to the survey.
Yep, the iPod was what paved the way for my return to the Apple fold. I used Apple computers back in the mid-80s, then school and work moved me across to the PC/Windows world.
Later one, when I bought my first iPod, it made me think of going back to Apple computers. A couple of months after I bought my iPod, I was holding a shiny new Titanium PowerBook.
To be honest, I probably wouldn't have moved back to Apple computers if it wasn't for the iPod and Mac OS X.
same here... had an ipod first before i tried a mac (with my then $100 PowerMac.. i figured, what could i lose with an investment of only a hundred shmackers). one of the best investment's i've ever made imho.
and Apple's stock price (aapl) continues to rise, demmit i missed an opportunity right there. should have bought stocks instead of apple gear ! :P
