Newsweek leaks new iPod design

The cover of the Newsweek issue dated July 26, 2004 shows a bespectacled Apple CEO Steve Jobs holding what appears to be a new iPod design featuring a new scrollwheel that mimics the one used on the iPod mini.


The coverage image reads "Steve Jobs and the must-have music player everyone is talking about. iPod, therefore iAm." Underneath the image and caption it says, "Steve Jobs and the new iPod."

This time, it's Newsweek who outscooped everybody else on the new iPod.

Two years ago, Time was the first to have given the lowdown on the then-new flat panel iMac, also w/ a bespectacled Steve Jobs on the cover.

That's one too many snafus. Makes me wonder if its intentional to stir up hype w/o spending much.

Could be that they're in "cahoots" since they both benefit from the publication of the story.

The article is now up at *sudder* MSNBC/Time site but there's no mention of what's new with the new iPods.
