    BAD news for text addicts!

    Malacañang is contemplating the imposition of a 20-percent tax on short messaging services, popularly known as "text messaging" or "texting" to raise much-needed funds to trim the government's ballooning budget deficit and reduce its debt load.

    Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Romulo Neri said that if Malacañang will have its way in Congress, mobile phone subscribers will have to pay up to 20 centavos for every text message sent.

    Wonder what would have happened if GMA told us about this and the new fare hike during the election campaign period? Would most of us still would have voted for her? Not that I actually did. Man, this is really bad news.
