what is the mysterious product?

Apple Genius
I was under the impression that the mysterious product was the flash-based iPod.
But from reports on www.macnn.com today, it appears the big hullabaloo is more about a breakout box/FireWire audio accessory for Garage Band users that allows additional mic-level, RCA-level and MIDI ins and outs. The codename for the product is "Asteroid" and it's slated to be compatible with a new, rewritten version of Garage Band that will be released next year.
