Apple Computer #3, Pixar #9 in Wired 40
In issue 12.06 (June 2004), Wired Magazine names the 40 companies driving the global economy. Ranked number 3, next to Google and Amazon.com, Apple Computer was praised for being "The New Face of Consumer Electronics", attributed to the success of the iPod, the iPod mini and iTunes.
The list also included Pixar at number 9.

with the outrageous success of the iPod and future consumer products in the pipeline, it makes me wonder: Where does the mac fit in Apple's long term commercial viability?
