i don't suppose you can upgrade 10.3.8 to 10.4 at a slightly lower cost?

Oh my gulay! I should really start saving now, especially since I plan to buy the Family Pack. We already have four Macs at home (two portables, two desktops)... dang, I can't believe we acquired that much in the span of three years.

Hmmm, I hope a G5 isn't the "recommended" minimum (for it to be tolerable)! Hindi naman siguro, wouldn't make sense either for Apple to optimize Tiger for the G5 (which is good, a must) but neglect optimizations for the G4 (I daresay the majority of Mac users are on G4). Now whether a G3 is capable, unlikely na siguro...

@NoisyCricket, highly unlikely since the upgrades within the OS version (e.g., Panther 10.3.4 -> 10.3.8) are free for legal users so I doubt the "proximity" (hehe) to 10.4 would count. Now whether it's cheaper from 10.3 to 10.4 than from 10.2 to 10.4, I'd defer to those who've been on Macs longer...

Nah, I really doubt a G5-powered laptop will be out at least the first half of this year. Tiger will run well on a G4, trust me. Just that it'll be blazing on a G5. Hmmm, maybe at least a bigger dose of memory...

Just read the ThinkSecret article, and I quote: "The event, sources say, is currently scheduled for Friday, April 1...."

If it's out in April, I'm wagering they won't launch on April Fool's.

    Default Mac OS X Tiger

Good business sense dictates that the Tiger version can still be used for G4 or even G3 processors because owners of existing units already captured markets.
