New mac mini and ibook prices
Can this be true?
From ThinkSecret:
Three new Mac mini configurations will be available in the near future, priced at $499, $599, and $699, sources say. Apple currently does not offer a $699 Mac mini configuration.
New iBook part numbers are meanwhile showing up at $999 and $1,299 price points, with the $1,499 model seemingly dropped from the line-up. Think Secret first brought word of the pending iBook earlier this week.
As before, specifications for the new systems remain unknown, suggesting the omission of a $1,499 iBook model could simply represent a shift to the SuperDrive becoming a build-to-order option. Similarly, the $699 Mac mini configuration may represent a pre-configured model with additional RAM or storage space and not an entirely new configuration in its own right.
Sources say the new systems could be announced early next week.

The 699 USD mac mini would probably have the 599 USD configuration plus the internal Bluetooth and Airport Extreme card built-in.

I am just hoping the entry level iBook finally has a bigger HD. 30GB doesn't go very far nowadays when you use a Mac with the iLife suite.

my dream ibook 12 config would be 1.2ghz min, 100gb hd, 1.2gb ram, ape, bt, sd... that will be the only time i'll upgrade...
i love the whiteness of my ibook!!!

Hey, come to think of it... if this is really true (w/the rumored Mac mini @$699), Apple would've covered almost every price point already (they have a hardware offering for about a doller less after every one hundred dollar price point, below a thousand dollars; except only for the $899 price point!).

Apple Products are getting very affordable as time goes by, but unfortunately doesn't translate that well enough in pesos, when the dollar to peso exchange isn't favoring the peso!
But nevertheless, it's good to know anyway that Apple products are getting very affordable already nowadays, unlike before!

But we could all wait until next week if Apple will officially announce these rumors
It is very exciting indeed to wait for its new look, widescreen or not as it may be the oldest of the Mac line- chassis wise.
This is maybe the second to the last revision of the iBook before it switches to an Intel processor.

Apple always had 3 configurations for almost all the Macs they've sold. It's akin to "small, medium & large".
