Default Macbook (formerly the iBook and Pbook 12")

    According to Think Secret:

"Apple will position the 13.3-inch MacBook as both an entry-level laptop and as a replacement for Apple's 12-inch PowerBook G4.

Apple will discontinue the 14-inch iBook G4 immediately upon release of the MacBook but sources expect the company to continue to offer the 12-inch iBook G4 in limited quantities for a period of time."

Sounds like a lot more 'books will be lookin for new homes next month if this is true.

MacBook 1.67 Core Duo... something to look forward to!

If the rumors are true, the 17"MBP will also be launched soon. Most probably circa WWDC 2006.

appleinsider's take on the macbook rumor:

    http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1659
Unlike Apple's entry-level Mac mini consumer desktops, which are available with either an Intel Core Solo or Core Duo processor, each MacBook is expected to pack at least a 1.67GHz Core Duo chip. The notebooks will be available in several configurations, each built around a vibrant 13-inch widescreen display.
Like Apple's MacBook Pro professional notebooks, the new consumer MacBooks are expected to sport a built-in iSight video camera, a MagSafe power adaptor and come bundled with Apple's Front Row and Photo Booth software applications.
Previous reports have also suggested the MacBook will boast some new proprietary Apple technology such as a completely magnetic latching system that will adhere the display module to the computer component without the need for a physical latching mechanism.
Alongside the MacBook, Apple is also expected to unveil its flagship 17-inch MacBook Pro professional notebook, which has also recently been finalized.

i hope that the 13.3 inches means they'll squeeze more space out of the edges of the current 12" frame and not make the whole thing bigger. i'm still holding out for an apple "vaio" subnote

From what I've read it's supposed to be an Intel Mac Mini in an iBook form factor. If that's the case, I hope they don't carry over the shared video ram design of the Intel Mac Mini.
