Leopard Screenshots?
Looks like it's running Windows apps natively or Boot Camp has evolved from being a dual-boot solution to a virtualization app.
Real or fake? You decide.
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard screenshots
From the pic, you can see tabbed Finder windows, IE 7 for Windows running, Windows version in the About This Mac dialog box, the Boot Camp icon in the menu bar and another icon I don't know (a circle with the number 1 in the center).

Re: Leopard Screenshots?
looks fake. you can spot the effects easily. and not much of a change i guess. and true too early i think for previews of leopard. i think win vista will come out first then leopard.

I dunno, after looking really closely at the first screenshot, there are just too many convincing little details for me to completely dismiss this as a fake.

Re: Leopard Screenshots?
My take is it's a fake. Here's why (in my opinion):
1. IE7 is not available on Mac. It's end of dev (and life) already.
2. Dock doesn't warp on the keyhole. It should also warp as the desktop will go into Windows.
3. IF it's running BootCamp, you can't switch OS on the desktop, it has to reboot.
4. The version number is 10.5. It should display 10.5.0 (as per standard Apple practice)
Now unless Apple (or Microsoft) has developed virtualization software that seamlessly switches between OS, I'm in the "this is a fake" camp.

I don't think it's too early. Leopard is scheduled to be announced and shown to developers this coming August during the WWDC. I'm pretty sure Apple already has a working version by this time.

Notice the "CoreWindows" tab in the finder revealed by the desktop switcher? Maybe Apple already has virtualization software embedded into Leopard. Take note that when Apple released Boot Camp, they stated that it was a stop-gap measure and not a final solution. Maybe this is the evolution of Boot Camp. Virtualization software is already available from Parallels, it's not unthinkable that Apple has also developed their own virtualization solution.
And yes, IE for Mac is dead, that's why it's Windows IE7 in the pic.
The Dock doesn't have to warp with the desktop just as the menubar doesn't.
After looking at the second screenshot I realized that the circular icon with the number indicates the desktop number.

Re: Leopard Screenshots?
Very very nice, if true.
Makes me think, should I chuck $50 to get Parallels now, or should I just use BootCamp for now (which is fine except for having to reboot) and set aside the money to get Leopard down the road...

...and notice that its sports DDR not DDR2... hmmmm....
The probability of anything happening is directly proportional to its desirability.

Re: Leopard Screenshots?
fake or not, i hope they incorporate the tabbed finder idea.
There are two things in life that you should do to be successful. 1) Do not share everything you know.

Re: Leopard Screenshots?
well i jus tthink a big release like leopard should really be hidden from the mass. apple really keeps a tight lid on their projects. it's very rare that you see a big peek from them. especially what they ahve shown in the screenshots.
