Default iTunes 16 tv episodes for $9.99 ... multi-pass released

Almost slipped pass our radar... Apple just released multi-pass feature in iTunes where you pay $9.99 for the current episode + the next 15 episodes of a tv show. It seems to be a trial release prior to a full-fledged release by April (?). This is almost like a subscription service, but you get to keep the downloaded shows. Looks like all signs point to a full-movie download service and subscription service by April....along with a video iPod?

Wow, thanks for the heads-up! This sounds like a great value, especially since you get to keep the shows. Have to take a closer look at this...

For now, it's applicable to two Comedy Central shows; The Colbert Report and The Daily Show. Dave at TUAW says "think of it as a paid podcast".

Could it be that after Jon Stewart's Oscar hosting, someone felt it would hard to sell his show on ITMS, so they applied a multi-pass?

A multipass makes sense for these types of shows, since they air daily,

Dave Chappelle's For What It's Worth stand-up comedy event looks like good value at $1.99 considering it's almost a full hour long.

Most of the $1.99 downloads clock in at less than 30 minutes.

EDIT: On an unrelated note, I just downloaded the advanced copy of Pearl Jam's new single "Worldwide Suicide" for free from their website. Doncha just love free stuff.
