    Default iMac G5s!!!

What do you think if the iMac G5's would look like this when it is released to the public?

Don't like this design. Looks insectoid.

uh oh... i need a dust free room for that. Right now I find the holes at the top of my iMac's dome hard to clean.. I use q-tips and there's always this fear of particles falling inside and causing problems. How do one clean iMac G4's vents by the way?

i think that design is not a radical enough departure from the previous design to be considered a 'new' one. im looking forward to a shift in thinking similar to the one that produced the current imac from the one one that preceded it.

even the g5 desktops arent that far a departure in design, it seems like its design was dictated by the material - aluminum - resulting in the cheese grater grill, metal bending at the 'handles' but it still in essence is designed along the lines of the blue power mac. i like the g5 desktops but they didnt move me to tears. :P

what i'd like to see are designs that change the way we think, like the tibook, the current imac, the clamshell ibook, the former imac-now emac, the use of colors and the lack of it (white) and new materials (ti, al, bulletproof polycarbonate), slot drives, missing floppy drives, etc. in other words, something apple really gave some thought to.

EDIT: it just occured to me that the base looks like those old school weber carburetor air cleaners

eeeek, what's with the grille at the back of the LCD? Labo, that design doesn't make sense... unless those grills are for back-firing flat panel speakers
