    Question Shooting one color

    Hey guys,

I don't know what's the term for it but how do i shoot photos that leaves only one color? For example, i'm gonna shoot my red guitar, i want to leave the color red and leaving the background in grayscale..

You have to do some post-processing by using a photo-editing software like Photoshop.
One technique would be to create two layers of the original photo. Desaturate one layer. Then create a layer mask. Mask out the colors that you want to hide, revealing only the colors that you like (in your case, the red guitar).

As far as I know, only some digital cameras carry that feature. Proper term escapes me now, but my sister's Ixus 90 IS has it.

Some P&S cams would have a setting that isolates color (and its range depending on threshold).. Most high-end Ixus cams would have this config:

Manual mode --> mode to Color Accent (not in the color menu eg. Vivid, Sepia, etc. but in the mode eg. Macro, Color Accent, Color Swap, Stitch Assist, etc.)

My old Ixus 900Ti already had this feature (kahit yung mas luma kong ixus700)

You can also use Adobe Lightroom to adjust the saturation of colors.. here's a short clip how to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUID64bquHw
