hi gnomon,
you have to determine if:
[a] all elements are to be supplied or to be created. These include: graphics, graphic retracing or creation, photography is to be color-corrected, copy is clean;
[b] some charge for 1-2 colors and full color, as drafts for corrections are to be considered, too;
[c] rush projects are subject to corresponding percentage of total price;
[d] some charge for file transposition (e.g. from one file to industry-standard files readable by imagesetters and or negative-output machines).

Hi Kafee... Do you have a ceiling price for charging a 6-faces,11cm x 21.5cm, full color brochure. The pictures and writeups are already provided. which needed for delivery withing 5days including the revisions.
Having read your suggestions. Can You give me a ceiling distinct price on charging a Brochure layout design. Lets say do you have a Packages on every requirement or client needs?
I really need to know if I am charging the least or am charging high. Thank you so much. God Bless!
Hi mirv26 and welcome to Philmug!
Am posting a standard rate sheet (ca. Oct07) for the benefit of others, from my design forum. Please note that the rates are neither the floor rates nor the highest. These are price ranges. Big agency players' rates are totally different, I should stress.
I suppose this question will be asked again in the future, and should there be movement in prices, the factors that shall determine these vary from one designer to another (e.g size of studio or agency, location, etc.), or according to project (one-time/campaign/multiple, benefit, etc.) and also of the client's size and requirements. These rates aren't necessarily our rates, but something some local designers and freelancers use as basis.
Note that I am posting this more for the benefit of information (there might be some violent reactions as to pricing). Like everyone else, artists do have to face real-life, real-time daily survival issues and expenses. (May I add that more often than not, they also happen to be taken for granted a lot, too.)

gnomon, I think you should also ask your graphics designer vendor as to the cost of the pictures that he/she/they use for your brochure. Graphic designers usually use stock pictures which have their respective licenses for usage. Some vendors may say that the images are "royalty free", but that doesnt mean that the image is free.
