65 views and no inputs yet? Oh well. I also asked my sister who's taking up culinary arts and she has no idea as well. I tried cold storage but they only have crab legs. I'm not a big fan of Boston lobsters because I prefer the juicy meat of the Pacific variety but I want my wife to have her share of how it tastes like. BTW, I know boston lobsters are not endemic to our waters. I'm just hoping there's a store or a resto here in the Metro that serves them.

there is a store along wilson (not cold storage) that sells fresh and frozen sea foods. I think I saw some lobsters there but I don't know if its maine or boston. Its the store fronting pizzahut
there's a huge difference between the lobsters caught very north (maine) compared to the other new england lobsters caught more south (massachusetts ect) which have a tosted sweet kinda taste.
from my experience the colder the region the sweeter and more buttery the lobsters are. but as with any seafood as long as its totally fresh than anything will taste great. hence the demand for maine lobsters w/c can have a very velvety naturally buttery sweet taste
i personally like the southeast asian variety of lobster as long as its superduper fresh (killed/cooked) on the spot. but is usually only mostly tail and has no claws...
in order to taste the difference though it has to be really cooked simply/ boiled in brine lang... unfortunately If you ever go to maine its actually pretty hard just to find places that will cook its simply ala dampa style... for that you actually have to go to their dampas and eat them fisherman style on park benches...
i guess i can make educated guesses on where certain lobsters come from, but for the life of me an oyster will taste like an oyster no matter where it comes from... lol

Every so often, Mamou and Pepato will have these live Maine Lobsters available. They're very pricey, but very worth it too. It really all depends on when shipments arrive. The lobsters don't have a very long shelf life even in tanks. Best to call the two aforementioned restos and talk to the managers to have them call you immediately when stocks come in.

Something to put into the epicurean calendar for sure. Looking forward to a Mamou surf and turf!
