@darvin, if you take a closer look at the picture, you'll notice that the sky and clouds have a different pattern in both pictures

The way that the finder is acting and commercializing the negatives makes me think that this is a fraud.

Just because he claims he bought it in a flee market doesnt means he's a fraud, there's hidden treasures found it those flea market just waiting for someone to capitalize on it. Any enterprising person could do this as long as he obtains the materials legally, just like the Hey Jude originals which almost sold for $100,000, unfortunately Sir Paul McCartney was able to block it http://www.spiritus-temporis.com/hey...ed-lyrics.html

Actually, the way he was contacting the family for years before the find was publicized is suspicious. I actually frequent surplus stores myself locally to get interesting stuff secondhand myself so I do know about "hidden treasures".

i used to suspect that some of ansel adams work were post-processed; that is, he dodged and burned his photos during the printing process.

even if the negatives were authentic, how valuable are the negatives when half of the creativity wasn't preserved?

in other words, positives are worth more than negatives.
