Angry Chip Tsao, a Racist. Satire? Not!

This it outrageous a Chinese Columnist says: As a nation of servants, you don’t flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter.
As a patriotic Chinese man, the news has made my blood boil. I summoned Louisa, my domestic assistant who holds a degree in international politics from the University of Manila, hung a map on the wall, and gave her a harsh lecture. I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she had better tell every one of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of the Spratly Islands belongs to China.

Grimly, I told her that if war breaks out between the Philippines and China, I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would not risk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day. With that money, she would pay taxes to her government, and they would fund a navy to invade our motherland and deeply hurt my feelings.

Default Chinese Columnist says As a nation of servants, you don’t flex your muscles at yo

gosh so many reasons to be angry on philmug have been popping up these last two years....

hey if someone from china wants to express their opinion let it be... the guy has his "reasons"

i like how HK magazine is publishing this... at least the media in HK is still not afraid to stir the pot (which is a very dangerous position to take in China) - if this is indeed satire - (please God let this be satire).

then again our very own pinoy print media has produced some gems of articles on degrading our own poor OFWs..

What reasons? Freedom of Speech? Spratly island isn't just claimed by Philippines, there's Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam claiming it too. The fact that this person manages to briefly hop over the issues of the Filipino domestic workers and quickly assume that they are their slaves is utter bull****.

True, but this guy who wrote this article has the right to say what he wants (and whatever his editor will let him print).

Hey he basically dug his own grave by doing it... think about the oncoming backlash thats coming (let alone when the pinoy politicos get their hands on this).

However the point is how he treat her Helper it’s not like they want to be there cleaning their toilet, I’m pretty sure they’d rather be at home cleaning their own f*ck*ng home. Clearly, someone needs to re-learn what a satire is. Also, while he’s (Chip Tsao) busy reeducating himself, he can go learn about political correctness and this touchy thing called racism.

"Grimly, I told her that if war breaks out between the Philippines and China, I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would not risk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day."

"They may have Barack Obama and the hawkish American military behind them, but we have a hostage in each of our homes in the Mid-Levels or higher. Some of my friends told me they have already declared a state of emergency at home. Their maids have been made to shout “China, Madam/Sir” loudly whenever they hear the word “Spratly.” "

The way i see this is a satire piece making fun of its own Chinese Government supposed military might and how basically the chinese gov has been mostly posturing rather than actually doing actions against other countries (think about it... the chinese gov has been more inclined to regulate/discipline their own citizenry rather than engage in war and lose economic opportunities with the world - even the philippines's nation of servants).

    here is his wikipedia page:

"To Kit (born August 17, 1958) is the pseudonym of Chip Tsao, a Hong Kong-based columnist-broadcaster and published books author. As a broadcaster, he is famous for his wry sense of humour and sarcasm. His writings abound with metaphors, and his best works are notable for their poetical quality.
Tsao is married with two sons named Tsao Tai-Ching and Tsao Tai-Yee."

Saw that already. Seriously, people just use the literary term “satire” to brand their crap. Chip Tsao's article are tawdry and coarse journalism is not atypical here, it's ubiquitously.

satire or not and freedom of speech notwithstanding, I still found it irresponsible. Fortunately, the entries written in the same webpage already gave nice responses to the article although I have to say, they too were not really written in a civilized way.

I know that there are lots of issues here and geography alone is not a basis but among the claimants, China is physically one the farthest from the spratlys

lord art, i thought you were the patriotic chinese man coz part of the article posted was outside the quote box.

    peace to all
