Re: Can you add watermark using Aperture?
Go to Aperture > Presets > Image Exports...
In the Presets window, click 'Show Watermarks'. Pick an image that you want as watermark.
I haven't used it for a long time but one of my wishlist is simple text watermarks instead of images. You can control opacity and scale. For text watermarks, I just create a PNG file with text (my name or title of the album of the photo) and make sure it has a transparent background.
Enjoy!

Same way when you create JPEG, TIFF, BMP or GIF files - it's just an image format.
If you just want to create text watermarks open TextEdit and set the desired font size of the text. Next take a screenshot of your screen. a PNG file should be on your Desktop. Use a free graphics editor like GIMP to open the PNG file on your desktop to set the transparent background.
