    Default OS X or Classic?

What's your Mac OS preference and/or usage habits? Why?

I still use OS 9 once in a while because some of the plug-ins for my graphic programs only run in classic mode. My Umax Astra 2200 scanner does not support OS X as well.

Used Classic for a while with my old iBook G3. Now, on my iBG4, I have no need for the Classic environment. It used to be I needed Classic for certain apps that only operate on it, but now, I just don't use any software that doesn't come in a version for OS X.

I sometimes miss the snappiness of booting from Classic (9 below) but I don't miss conflicting extensions and getting messages with the bomb icon.

3 years later, my Mac's OS may not be as snappy but life is easier.

i guess you can call me a newbie. i don't even know what classic feels like, but i've seen it in some old movies. medyo luma na yung os9 diba? when was osx introduced ba?

i love my computer, i realize that it mostly has to do with the operating system. the dock, exposé, fast user switching, everything is so galing. it just feels so jazzy (i don't like rock kasi). ü

I still use classic. It works for me. Maybe on my next mac will start using OS X. But for now "If It ain't broke, don't fix it." :2cents:

Been using it since 8x but was forced to move to X when I upgraded 'books. Held on to 9 for the longest time because of Quark.
X all the way. I never looked back.

I use OSX because it's based on UNIX, which I trust. Sure, apps still crash but they don't take down the entire OS. I sometimes miss the simple interface of Classic, but that's more of a visual consideration.

we use classic once in a while (our upgraded pmac 7500's os), but like my older brother said to me:

"once you go OS X, there's no coming back."
