Canon EOS 400D or Sony Alpha 1 A100

I want to try serious photography and I'm contemplating on choosing between the 2 DSLR's. If price is not an issue what do you recommend?

Haven't really got any experience with either camera, but I'm pretty sure you'll have an easier time finding Canon lenses.

Also, read Ken Rockwell's A100 review - it's a viewpoint you might want to consider.

The 400D is 20% Better than the Canon 350D. Go for it.

both are good cameras..canon well it is a good cam, low noise at 800 up iso while the sony has image stabilizer...personally, id go with canon.

Got it guys. The reason why I posted the 2 specific cameras is because I can have a good deal with Sony (50%) and I am using a Canon A80 point and shoot cam now. Been eyeing the EOS 400D for a few weeks now in malls

I guess Canon is a better choice now.

Actually, Sony has the advantage here.

Canon has only one Service Center.
ALL the major Service Centers of Sony are certified to be able to handle the Sony Alpha 100.

Got my 400D last November from Henry's in hidalgo. Much cheaper to get it there than in the malls. Paid P46k for it..includes kit lens and filter. They do deliver in Makati. Check out photoworld. Henry's has an offer of 6 months zero interest I think for the 400D, but for citibank cardholders only.
