I probably have the most damaged hair among the females of this forum, due to my bright red hair :P

To salvage it, I St. Ives Hair Repair Conditioner I also condition my hair twice everytime I shower, first with the Hair Repair, then with Pantene Total Care.

And then before drying, I apply Citre Shine Hair Serum.

Don't brush your hair right away after bathing. Wait until it is semi-dry. Hair is weaker while wet and is more prone to breaking when it's being brushed

And remember, vigorously rubbing your hair with a towel also damages it!

Get a hot oil once a month (L'oreal Kerastase works well! ).

Use TIGI protein protective spray (you can buy it at Toni & Guy salon in 6750) before stepping out of the house and going under the sun.

And get a trim every few weeks.

    Good luck!

    Do not fear conditioner

Fear hairspray, gel, hairdryer, and chemicals :P

The products I mentioned help strenghten and protect your hair, not destroy it

if you want to be natural, use mayonnaise. apply it on your hair, leave it for like 10mins then rinse and shower. make sure to fully rinse it. this is a natural solution to hair dryness...

i try to go to the salon for treatment once a month since my hair's quite dry (i color it regularly and i blow dry everyday).

Chinggay, can i use the TIGI protein spray before i blow dry my hair as an added protection?

Yup! That's what I did with the Tigi, before I ran out. I can't seem to find it anywhere these days.

Another product that works (and has been my Tigi replacement) is Frederic Fekkai's Protein RX Reparative Treatment spray and/or mask. Good stuff! You can get it at Sephora or on Amazon.

ditch the shampoo and switch to conditioner instead. never made it happen before because i couldn't live without shampoo but if you wanna take care of your scalp then u can start.. just little by little. try limiting shampoo to once every 2 days, then once a week, then once every 2 weeks..

i quite believe in the "no shampoo" movement now. i shampoo just about once or twice a week. and it has made my hair smoother than ever. i use l'oreal or herbal essences because the latter smells good and has worked well with my hair.
