If you want a camcorder that you can grow with, go for a 3CCD model.

Panasonic makes a number of relatively inexpensive but excellent prosumer 3CCD camcorders. You might wanna check out the PV-GS200 and the PV-GS400.

    Hi subtleclarity,

Take it from someone who has just bought a 3CCD video camera by panasonic (GS120), you wont' be disappointed! I am really happy with my Panasonic GS120.

im trying to film something under lowlight situations... im quite aware that canons
and most minidvds fail to deliver in these situations...

help me cheat my way out of this.

a lighting technique or a model of a minidv would help

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

i was filming on an old sony hi8 in lowlight... wow griain was all over the place

the entire scene suck3d big time...

Are the panasonics available here? Which stores carry them? How's the warranty of panasonics?

I'd go for the Panasonic PV-GS400. Cheaper, newer, and slightly better (according to the reviews I've read so far). The GL2 looks better though (professional ang dating) but for me, overall performance is more important than looks. Besides, di naman ako pro eh, haha. ;-)
