    Default Restoring videos

I did something so STUPID. I erased my movie files and emptied out the trash. I kept the quicktime files of my final movie but made changes before I erased my movie files and didn't save the new final movie so now my quicktime files won't open because I'm missing "fading out" or other effects and clips I used before - which I've erased with the movie files. Luckily I made a dvd copy (but not in data format) so I still have my movies.

I want to be able to make copies for other people of the movies I made. Is there some way I reconvert my dvd-made movie back into quicktime format?

Do you have norton utilities? If you do, you might want to try and "recover" your erased files. But really, based on experience, this wouldn't really work that well.

Which program are you using? iMovie or FCP?

Worst case is you might have to digitize your DVD material then trim and then make DVD copies again. You have to expect Generation Loss here already.

You can use Handbrake to rip your DVD video to your hard drive in MPEG-4 format. If I read this page correctly, Quicktime Pro will open MPEG-4 video files. Good luck!
