    Default recording tv shows

A friend wants to record the rerun of the DLSU - FEU Finals Game for burning into a VCD. What's the best way of going about it? (i.e. least amount of quality loss) Can a DV Camera record tv show directly like a VCR via its video input jack?

If your friend's (Firewire-equipped) camcorder has analog passthrough capability, just use it as the "bridge" between the TV and the computer to capture the footage directly to the computer's hard drive using iMovie/FCP/etc.

Otherwise, record to a MiniDV tape first before capturing the footage.
