Default Rates for a local MTV client

Can anybody suggest the outstanding rates for the following:
    Scriptwriter
    Director
    Editor
    Cameraman
    Production Assistant
The project covers all aspects of a 3-5 min. MTV, from Shooting the video to the final editing.
The client is local and the budget is very tight. We are currently using FCP and After Effects and for our cameras, sony vx 2000. By the way, the client is also asking for a big discount since the project covers all the songs in his album, 13 song all in all. The deadline is 2 months from start of production. The location is mostly out of town but the logistics is covered by the client.
    Thanks!!

    hmm. depende sa artist.
and sa network ng kaibigan na gusto ka tulungan.
if the budget is really , you have to scrap alot of things.

this project is sponsored by the province of Negros. Its actually sort of a tourism promotions since it will feature local talents and the tourist spots here in Negros.
Unfortunatelly, the budget is very very minimal. Not like the 100-200k dinx mentioned. ahh well, ill charge it again to experience.

actually the budget that record companies today give to music videos are really nakakaawa. gone were the days that they would give direcotrs 100-200k for a video. today unless your making a video for a major artist like Gary V, you most likely be getting around the 80k mark.

some record companies even give budgets as low as 20k for a video.

Is it because a record does not really sell because of the video? I mean, making a video is not that profitable, since its not the one making the music popular...Radio still rules in this part of the world siguro.

actually music videos do alot of good for selling the records and having the artists booked for live gigs.

one of the reason why record companies dont allot more budget to making music videos is because there are alot of students and young filmmakers who are desperate to make one.
they would accept any budget and would find more ways to stretch the budget given becuase they are very hungry for work.

also alot of people know that making music videos is a great way to get into the advertising as well as the motion picture business. more money.

then there is also the advent of 24p cameras and hdv cameras. back then the difference bewteen shooting DV and 16 or 35mm was so obvious that record produers immediately put a premium on music videos done on film. some still do today.

Used to work in a post-production company where rate was between 15-20k, for editing alone on Regine velasquez' MTVs. Sigh. :slanted:

So the market for production work has become saturated, at least in this part of the business. Oh I forgot, there's also wedding videos!
