putting color on black & white videos

hi guys, a client of mine is being a bit unrealistic. for a video in which they provided the material. theyve asked me to make their black and white footage into colored ones. i explained to them that given their deadline and all, i dont think i will be able to do this. however, im given the option of making their material stylized. im thinking is there a way to put color into these videos just like some old ads in which you could see that a black and white picture was just hand painted to have color.

im trying to figure out the quickest possible wayto do this and yet still make it visually appealing. any ideas?
