Malabo before or after the edit? Before, might be the lens or focus. After, wrong settings maybe.

Was it your movie file that was blurry or was it the projected image? Were the footages clear during the edit?

How did you present your movie? What resolution did you export as? Was it blurred or blocky?

Could also be that the projector was out of focus.

Is the blurred image from the imported iMovie file? this happened to me before, I just played the iMovie file since i'll only use it from my 'Book.

you might have compressed the movie after the edit. Make sure you export using DV format (self-contained file) so that there would be no loss of quality. Exporting to VCD involves a compression process which makes the movie worse as it is... hope this helps

carlodl is right, exporting it to a VCD format only makes your footages look worse. I think you're better off transfering the rendered movie back to the camera and playing it from there. But if you have a DVD burner, use it. Just choose the appropriate Format on Export.
If you're really bent on using the VCD format. You can brighten up the footages using some of the iMovie Effects, this will extend your rendering time, but it's the most you can do to repair them.
In your next project, make sure the scene is well lit and the camera is properly positioned during the shoot. This will save you a lot of time when you edit. It might also help to have a lapel mic or any external microphone proximate to the interviewer and the interviewee.
Finally, when playing from a projector, keep the room dark and take time in making the necessary focal lens adjustments.
My two cents...Good luck!
