Default Importing and Exproting to and from iMovie

Been doing a bunch of test .mov files on iMovie jsut to see if am getting my resolution and everything right. But I seem to be encoutnering some problems.
    Here's the lowdown:

The DESIRED OUTPUT: A 7-min AVP. Am probably going to make VCD that will jsut be played on a VCD player and proojected using an InFocus projector most probably.

PROBLEM: I made some verctor images on Illustrator and exported them as TIFFs at 150dpi. The thing is, it still comes out pretty pixelized on iMovie even when I export using Expert Settings...

I did the vector images on a 720px X 480px artboard and I figured going way beyond the 72dpi scren resolution required, I would get sharper images and video but to no avail.

So, how should I go about this? What resolution should I save my TIFFs at? Am I better off using JPEGs. Is 720 X 480 good enough?

Take note that I plan to make a VCD and not show this on Quicktime...how do I go about exporting this? What settings should I enter? (frame rate, compression, etc.) I really can't afford for this to come out all pixelized.

Hope you guys can shed some light on this...Thanks!

Have you tried bringing in the vector images in PS then saving a jpeg image from it? You could also try 640x480 the same size iDVD prefer.

I remember iDVD accepts bitmapped image files but not Vector graphics, as from Illustrator, though Vector graphics can be bitmapped in PhotoShop first and then used in iDVD. iMovie may behave the same way.

Also, have you tried viewing from your TV or DV cam to confirm the pixelized movie?
