    Default iMovie transitions?

This is the first time I'll use iMovie and iDVD, I've been using Pinnacle Studio DV for the past 5 years on windows. And what I've noticed is the limited choices in Transition Effects as well as Title Effects in iMovie. :sigh:

Are there any free downloadable add-ons for these? :qmark:

    Thanks!!!

Not sure about download material but i use Slick Video Transition and Effects. Comes in 3 DVDs, fairly reasonable price. Got mine in Canada but you can order it online.

I've seen Slick in a magazine and looked it thru the net, currently it comes in 8 DVDs amounting to almost $300 US, a bit steep.

With that amount, will it be better if I get the Final Cut Express HD instead? :qmark:

You dont need all 8 DVDs. Just choose the good ones. If im not mistaken 4-5 out of the 8 dvds have really old school looking effects. Only the latest have the newer more modern effects and transitions. $300 US? Dang, i got mine for $35 Canadian each dvd just last month.

$ 300 US for the whole set which is less $120 if purchased separately. Getting there Volume Bundles of 3 to 4 DVDs will also be around $150 to $200.

I'm in a dilemma right now if I should go with it or just get the Final Cut Express HD which has more editing features as a whole.

If you are doing pro quality stuff id go with Final Cut. $150-200 is kinda expensive for just 3 dvds.

    Hi Byerly,

You can check out the freeware and shareware downloads in the video section of os x downloads in the apple site. You can get them here.

I personally just use straight cuts, dissolves, & fade to & from blacks. More then enough most of the time.

    Happy editing.
